About me 

Born on April 10, 1960 in Espírito Santo do Pinhal, a little town in the heart of the São Paulo state, Brazil, has been residing in Portugal since November 2000.

Self taught artist, his painting career covers a period of more than 25 years, and his work has been exhibited in various galleries since his arrival in Portugal.

Having left behind the academic phase of his development as an artist, he has chosen, for now, to dedicate his time and energy to finding new ways of expressing the relationship between line and colour. His aestheticism borders on the fusion between figurative expression and the abstract form.

Having already gone through multiple paths, passed the academic stage, raided the abstract, used many materials such as pastel, ink from China (Nanjing), watercolor and is currently developing  wood carvings.
In parallel performs custom portraits in which he plays an intimate work, making numerous photographs to get the best shot, not only the physical but also the personality of the model.
 

His colours are frequently ardent and contrasting colours, and his lines are a fluid blending between geometrical angular shapes bleeding into organic undulating forms in a constant search for solutions which would allow him to create the bridge between an interpretation bursting out of his own personal universe and the interpretation of the receptor viewing his work.

Artistic Credo

I do not use my art to protest anything and neither do I maintain any relationship with current events or attitudes when I paint. My work is not a political or social manifesto. My opinions in these areas will not be found in my paintings. Above all, I am a defender of Art for Art’s Sake.

I am in constant search to augment my understanding and knowledge about colour, harmony, texture and line and I am interested in the impressions the context created by me can have on the observer

Classes for all ages

Private lessons at student’s home and small groups in studio.

For beginning students, course of development of basic drawing, colour theory and techniques of oil painting.

For advanced students, attune their skills and sensitivity, and may also choose to develop the techniques of painting portraits.

The monitoring is always customized and the duration of the course will depend on the pace of learning and the objectives of each student.

Work done by order and the process consists:

1 – Definition of size and price (50% of the value has to be paid in advance)

2 - Section of photos with the model

3 - Selection of images

4 - Meeting with the model or responsible in case of a child, to choose the final photograph

5 - Execution of the piece of work

6 - Delivery of the portrait
